Internship - NRCC

The National Republican Congressional Committee Internship Program will provide students and recent graduates with knowledge and exposure to practical, campaign-style politics. Interns will be involved with helping in the day-to-day activities of the NRCC while also being encouraged to learn a skill by completing projects. Interns will be offered several opportunities to explore the sights of Washington, DC, through the internship program. We want to ensure that each intern takes away substantial knowledge and experience that will be useful in his or her future endeavors.

NRCC interns learn about campaign organization and management through hands-on experience. Our administration and finance internships are excellent opportunities to develop fund-raising and political skills; learn about finance and FEC compliance during an election season; conduct essential political research; make valuable political contacts; and become familiar with the DC political landscape. Although our positions are unpaid, educational credit is possible.

Spring and Summer Interns

Congressman Dan Burton (R-IN) is currently seeking spring and summer interns for his D.C. office. Primary responsibilities include staffing the front desk, answering phones, directly dealing with constituents, handling flag and tour requests, assisting with incoming mail, working with legislative staff on special projects and assisting them by attending hearings or briefings, and carrying out various other office duties. Interns will also conduct personal tours within the U.S. Capitol complex. They are expected to learn office procedures quickly and assume responsibility to keep up with the day-to-day needs of the office.

Congressman Burton’s dual role as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia and as Former Chairman and Senior Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government reform allows interns to meet and greet other Members of Congress as well as foreign leaders and policy experts when they come into the office for meetings with the Member and staff.
